Plants outside my house, by the wheelie bin, and out on the road. Drawn with ballpoint pen and isopropanol, pencil, colour pencil, gel pen, silver crayon and bamboo dip pen.
Lange Dyk
Drawing of Lange Dyk, which is near where I live in Westhoek. Blue ballpoint pen with isopropanol, plus gel pen and blue pencil.
Indonesian flavourings
Indonesian flavourings. Essential to the mix. Kecap Manis from ABC and Sambal Oelek from Albert Heijn. These are more experiments with the ballpoint pen and sprayed isopropanol, plus a little bit of blue pencil here and there. Next it’s Marmite.
Noud
Drawing of Noud, who was at the Creatievelingen samenwerkingen meetup last night in Leeuwarden. A really quick drawing.
Planet Jakarta
Another pen and ink from 1998. This one did get used in the book, at least in the first edition. I’m not sure if it made it to the later reprints.
Jakarta street drawing—print
A print of my Jakarta street drawing at 57 x 9 inches on its way to Feny in Portland. Thank you Feny.
This is a print of a long (83 x 12 inches) pen & ink drawing I made in 1998 for a book I wrote about Jakarta, but which was never used in the end. Drawn with a Rotring Isograph if you remember them. Great pens. If you’re into pens.
Lunch at Stania State today
Sketch over a bite to eat at Stania State in North Friesland today. Nice.
St Jacobiparochie
Sketch of St Jacobiparochie from Oudebildtdijk. This is the view from the front of my house. Drawn and painted in ink, pencil, colour pencil, graphite, and gel pen.
My back garden this morning
My back garden this morning, as seen from the kitchen. Drawn in ink, pencil, colour pencil, gel pen, charcoal, and crayon (yes, crayon).
