Life drawing from the Mixtup on Eerste Jacob van Campenstraat. Organised by Julia at the Amsterdam International Life Drawing Society.
This poor bugger was just lying there in the road, one eye popped out, cars driving around it. I picked it out the road and put it in under a bush. I wasn’t too sure what to make of it all.
Drawn in pencil, colour pencil, pastel and acrylic pen, on Cachet recycled paper.
A portrait of Al Bowlly—’The Big Swoon’ as they called him. A picture version of ‘Riptide‘… torn between two loves, the old and the new… from Mozambique to bombs falling over London. Where will it take me? What shall I do?
This is drawn straight into Photoshop, following a biro pen sketch. I’ve re-titled it ‘Constipation Blues’ in recent times, but the original title was ‘Quality Family Time’.
