Who am I really?

Buckets of rain, buckets of tears, got all them buckets comin’ out of my ears. Ink and pencil on paper 44 x 44cm. Inspired by something I heard in a Rupert Sheldrake lecture on consciousness.

‘Barked Once’ is an anagram of ‘Derek Bacon’. You can also get ‘Debora Neck’ and, if you really want, ‘Caked Boner’.

I’m originally from Bedfont, a little village next to the main runway at Heathrow airport, but I now live in a really quiet part of the Netherlands. I’ve also lived in Poole, Madrid, Jakarta and Amsterdam.

I work in a few different mediums. With illustration work, I prefer to draw digitally. But I really love working in ink and pencils too, especially if I’m doing people.

To commission an illustration, or anything else you’d like to ask about, feel free to get in touch below.

Cheerio,
derek
